HHO (2 parts Hydrogen + 1 part Oxygen) is a gas created by passing electric current thru water (electrolysis). This gas is 3 times more potent than gasoline and water is the only byproduct.
There are many schools of thought when it comes to the “perfect” HHO package. Since there is no “one size fits all” HHO package, we offer a wide range of products to allow the consumer to build their own package. Also, our HHO Generators allow the buyer to tweak the stainless plates by adjusting the spacing or rearrange the order (+NN- -NN+ or +N-N+N-, etc).
Neutral plates “float” between the negative and positively charged plates which allow the current to dissipate. A cell without neutral plates (+-+-+-) are only 70% to 80% efficient depending on the electrolyte mixture. Adding neutral plates alone will reduce amp draw as well as reduce the gas production. The goal is to match the correct number of neutral plates with your electrolyte mixture to achieve near 100% efficiency. If you make your own HHO generator, you will need to run some tests to determine the best match. If you purchase an assembled HHO Generator, it should come with instructions on the best electrolyte mixture to get the most out of the cell without damaging it.
Absolutely! During electrolysis, electrical current passes thru the water. The further apart the plates are, the less current will pass thru the water. The further the plates are apart, the more electrolyte will be required. It’s best to keep it small (.05 to .1 inch).
HHO Generators use DC (Direct Current) which is different than AC (Alternating Current) which is found in a home electrical outlet. Most if not all vehicles are based on a 12 volt DC system which can produce up to 100 amps (more with high-end alternators). When bench testing your HHO Generator, you should use the same voltage and amperage as produced by your car. The fast and easy way is by using jumper cables from your car battery while your car is running. This method is not practical or economical if you intend on trial testing for hours on end. You can purchase AC to DC converters on Ebay, Radio Shack, etc. but make sure it can produce 12 volt’s as well as a healthy amperage output. The common battery charger does not work because the new chargers are smart and only work if they detect a functioning battery. Two things to always remember while testing your generator: Always use an in-line fuse and ALWAYS work in a well ventilated area.
There are many reasons why a HHO Generator would overheat. Heat is caused by running too many amps thru your generator. Here are a few things to look for:
* You may have a short somewhere meaning you may have wires or plates touching each other. To check for this, you can use a meter to check for continuity.
* You may have too strong of an electrolyte. Try using a leaner mixture and let the generator run for a few hours and continue to check the heat level. Add electrolyte slowly to find the right mixture for your generator.
* You may need to add neutral plates between your Negative & Positive plates to help dissipate the amp draw.
* You can add a Pulse Width Modulator (PWM) which controls the amount of amps like a speed limiter
There are many books, guides & websites that would say yes. We at HHOMonster.com prefer to take the easy route by providing quality products that supplement your gas/diesel intake to boost your fuel efficiency. If you wish to run your car completely off of water, we highly recommend not attempting this on your own without seeking a professional HHO Installer to make sure you do not damage your engine.
Any substance containing free ions that behaves as an electrically conductive medium is an electrolyte. Adding electrolyte to the water used in an HHO Generator can create more HHO gas. BE CAREFUL as some electrolytes produce a gas that can cause damage to your engine and too much of any electrolyte can pull too many amps, overheat your HHO Generator and cause premature damage to the stainless plates.
+ HHO systems for vehicles are still in an experimental stage. Since fuel prices have only spiked within the past 2 years, drivers have only recently been motivated to focus on their fuel consumption. Also, engine compartments vary so there is no “one size fits all”. Unfortunately, buyers of any HHO product should be mechanically inclined.
HHO gas and Brown Gas are interchangeable. The gas is not brown but named after an inventor from Sydney named Yule Brown. Mr. Brown spent years researching and perfecting the process, created many patents and found many practical uses for the gas. Yule Brown passed away in 1998.
Most any kind of water will work but distilled/purified water is by far the best. Water that is not distilled or purified contain contaminates and impurities that will damage your HHO Generator over time and not suggested.
Yes BUT most metals will quickly corrode due to the electrolysis that occurs in an HHO Generator. All HHO Generators sold on HHOMonster.com contain Stainless Steel due to it’s anti-corrosive properties.
A productive HHO system will boost your fuel economy if your vehicle has a carburetor or a Fuel Injector.
